Bates College, Carnegie Science Hall

This renovation and expansion of a 1913 building created a state-of-the-art teaching and research complex at a small liberal-arts college in Lewiston, Maine.  The design won a 1992 competition by the Boston Society of Architects as one of the best examples of “new” New England architecture.   It was featured in a display that appeared at the national convention of the American Institute of Architects and that later toured the United States for a year.  The design was also included in the 1989 Architectural Portfolio of Outstanding School and University Buildings published by American School & University.
