Dexter High School Roof Renovation

Dexter, Maine

Harriman was selected by the Dexter School Department to complete the architectural and structural engineering services associated with investigation and replacement of the building’s roof system.

Harriman’s scope of work included the investigation and evaluation of the existing roof framing system to document the condition of the existing framing, assessment of the capacity of the framing to support the anticipated loading, development of design options to select the most efficient systems, development of a new roofing system including  additional insulation, roof drains, and parapet details, review of budgets and costs associated with the  design options, and a construction phasing approach that minimized impact to the school building during  construction.

Supplemental structural framing reinforcements were necessary to meet current Building  Code requirements prior to replacement of the roofing system.
