for Engineering and Applied Research
The design of Maine Maritime Academy’s Center for Engineering and Applied Research combines an engineering curriculum, research, and sustainable building systems into a leading-edge facility that competitively positions the college as a leading educator for the 21st century.
Interdisciplinary research and collaborative study hallmark the philosophy behind the organization of labs, classrooms, computing facilities, and common areas. The Center will be home to the college’s Thermodynamics and Fluids Laboratories, CADD and computing clusters, CNC Lab, and an Alternative Energy Research Lab.
Situated on a sloped site, the facility will be located at the heart of the campus, close to existing academic facilities, library resources, and student commons.
