Maine State Cultural Building Master Plan

Augusta, Maine

This plan outlines changes to be made to the Maine State Cultural Building so that it will meet space needs for the next 25 years and proposes a landscaped area that will link the building with the adjacent State House and the State Office Building.

The cultural building houses the Maine State Museum, the Maine State Archives and the Maine State Library, and the master plan is based on extensive work with stakeholders in each facility. Renovations and additions will add much-needed offices and work areas for staff in addition to providing more space for public use of the three facilities.

All will be able to use a 450-seat auditorium and a small cafeteria that will be easily accessed off a new centralized lobby.
