500-Student School Renovation
Nashaua, New Hampshire
Harriman was selected by the City of Nashua to modernize its Broad Street Elementary School. While the building supported the districts educational model, its systems were inefficient and at the end of their useful lives. The renovation project incorporated all new displacement ventilation and air conditioning into the classrooms, energy efficient windows and added insulation. Other improvements consisted of high efficiency lighting, technology enhancements as well as security and life safety system upgrades.
A major issued addressed in the renovation was the lack of a single, secured entrance to the building. Harriman’s concept combines a lower level entrance and upper level bus drop off canopy into a new 2-story vestibule at the front of the school.
The school’s site also benefited from the development of additional parking, improved public safety access drive and drainage upgrades.
