Sustainable Design

Harriman’s commitment to sustainable design is not only evident with the buildings that we design. We are also committed to reducing the use of fossil fuels by complying with the guidelines of the 2030 Challenge; and to reducing our energy consumption by documenting our energy reduction strategies and results with the American Institute of Architect’s 2030 Commitment.

The incorporation of sustainable strategies has been a hallmark of Harriman’s practice long before LEED or other incentive scoring systems were in existence. Core to Harriman’s philosophy is that we should conserve our limited resources and be good stewards of the planet by designing with sustainable materials and engineering systems that reduce our overall energy consumption.
