Campus Master Plan
Harriman prepared a campus master plan for the 450-acre riverfront campus located north of Kennebunkport, Maine. A major component of the process was the integration of the academic and physical programs with the City’s zoning by-laws. Harriman worked closely with the University to develop a pro-active strategy for community relations, interactions and collaborations. The plan called for a major new development within the existing campus core to increase density, use, and sense of campus vitality. The core development called for 300,000 square feet of academic, residential, recreational, support and administrative space on the campus. This infill theme also responded to the concerns of the community, through the protection of much of the campus property as mature forested open space.
