New 800-Student School
Voters approved a new 163,000 square foot school to be built adjacent to the existing school. The site of the old school was demolished and the space became additional parking.
The new 770 student intermediate school is designed to expand to accommodate 100 additional students. Modern building systems and a geothermal heating and cooling system are projected to save upwards of $73,500 on annual energy costs.
The school features a full-size gymnasium, cafeteria, stage, art and music rooms, administration offices, library/learning commons, science labs and computer labs. The school also features space for a garden lab where the school will be able to create and sustain an organic teaching garden that will be integrated into the school’s curriculum, culture, and food program.
The new school opened in the fall of 2014.
