Time flies when you are working hard. It is with both great joy and sadness that we announce the retirement of three of our very dear colleagues. Dan Bisson, Rick Miles and Darryl Johnson have been an integral part of the fabric of Harriman for many years, and we are a better firm because of their contributions. They will be immensely missed, and we wish them the very best on their well-deserved retirements!
Daniel A. Bisson, AIA, an Associate and Senior Architect in our Portsmouth office, is retiring. Dan worked nearly 40 years in architectural design on a variety of project types including educational, retail, corporate and municipal facilities. In his 12 years with Harriman Dan was a great relationship builder and always fully committed to serving our client’s needs. Dan was the former owner of Team Design, Inc. in Portsmouth prior to merging with Harriman in 2008 and has continued to be a huge part of our success in New Hampshire.
After 28 years with Harriman, Richard D. Miles, LEED AP BD+C, an Associate and Senior Mechanical Designer in our Auburn office, is retiring. Rick was an outstanding leader in the mechanical engineering group and always offered valuable perspectives as an Associate in the firm. Rick was known for always finding a way to get things done, no matter what challenges he was faced with. In addition, he was a consummate negotiator and networker with the construction and design teams and took pride in providing excellent service and response to our clients.
Darryl L. Johnson, an Associate and Senior Designer in the firm’s Auburn office, is retiring after 50 years with Harriman. Darryl started with Harriman as an Intern in 1969 and went on to become a full-time employee in June 1970 as a draftsman. By 1985, he had become Chief Draftsman and head of the drafting department. In 1993, Darryl was promoted to leader of the Retail Design Studio and has continued to be a primary member of our food retail design practice. Darryl is highly respected by our clients and contractors and we are proud to call him a Harriman teammate.
