Harriman Welcomes AIAS Students, REVOLUTION 2016- American Institute of Architectural Students (AIAS) Forum 2016

Revolution: Challenge Today, Spark Tomorrow, the 2016 Forum for the American Institute of Architectural Students (AIAS), recently concluded a four day conference in the city of Boston from December 29, 2016 – January 1, 2017. Our Boston office participated in the event as one of ten local Boston-based architectural firms who held an open house style information sessions for groups of touring architectural students. Led by Harriman Principals, Steven Cecil, AIA, ASLA and Judy Johnson, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, the students were introduced to Harriman’s successful architectural history in New England and the company’s vision of architecture and its role in the community.  The visiting groups participated in an engaging 30 minute presentation, followed by Q & A, an office tour, refreshments and some unique historical perspectives on Boston architecture by firm principal, Steven Cecil, whose expansive knowledge of local history and architecture resonated well with the attendees.

FORUM is the largest annual gathering of architecture students in the world. This year the AIAS FORUM explored the innovative evolution of the architecture profession – from the origin story to a fabled future. Every exploration, discovery or modification, stemmed from the minds of individuals who never let limitations destroy their dreams; individuals who constantly question the established norms; and individuals who continually dare to be revolutionary. Invigorating all in attendance, our discourse will spark a renewed passion in architecture, design, and community.

Harriman strongly supports organizations and sponsored events such as the AIAS Forum 2016. We are living in the age of Innovation; the age of Revolution, where dreams are always pursued and goals are attained. As a whole, we can work as one to achieve the impossible; to achieve the unreachable.
