Harriman prepared the strategy plan for the comprehensive redevelopment of the East Boston Piers area. The site, owned by the Massachusetts Port Authority, includes 40 acres of waterfront property with a spectacular view of downtown Boston. This project details land planning for new mixed-use development as well as the expansion of a major waterfront park. The services also included the preparation of the land planning and urban design standards for future development. A designated developer has subsequently been selected and is proceeding with implementing the planned development, which will include several hundred housing units and water-dependent uses.
