Hunter’s Shop ‘n Save

Following a devastating fire, the owners of Hunter’s Shop ‘n Save seized the opportunity to rebuild better and engaged Harriman to design a welcoming and efficient new building to serve this tight-knit resort community on the bank of Lake Winnipesaukee.

The new building makes better use of the tight site by repositioning the main entrance for safer pedestrian access and improved traffic flow. Underutilized outdoor space was reclaimed to add 3,000 sq. ft. of finished space, a 25% increase over the previous building.

Eye-catching super graphics extend Hunter’s Shop ‘n Save’s brand attributes throughout the building, energizing interiors and easing wayfinding.

Economical & Sustainable

Hunter’s Shop ‘n Save is the first store in the country to utilize FlexCube, an innovative refrigeration system which relies on a more environmentally friendly coolant, A2L, to chill perishables.

  • The store incorporates five FlexCube units. Each can chill 84 linear feet of multi-deck produce cases.
  • The units are mounted on top of produce cases and the meat and dairy coolers to avoid wasting precious floor space.
  • Eight highly efficient heat pumps handle the store’s HVAC. Waste heat from maintains the store at a comfortable 68-degrees year-round.
  • Excess heat is transferred to the adjacent Walgreens drugstore for free.
  • Hunter’s Shop ‘n Save owners credit the integrated mechanical system with reducing their electric bills by 66%.

We’d love to work on a project together.
