Historic buildings are important cultural assets that should be preserved and maintained as a link with the past. However, the very features that make historic buildings special are the same features that often pose problems for their use in the present. Harriman is expert at delivering designs that allow historic buildings to fit today’s needs without threatening or destroying their distinguishing features. We have a great deal of experience with historic preservation at the local, state, and national levels. We use innovative and historically accurate techniques to restore key architectural features and we design building systems to meet modern day standards while being as unobtrusive as possible.
