Harriman’s philosophy of streetscape design share the conviction that “complete streets” are also about “complete neighborhoods”. Studies have shown that streetscape improvements can result in dramatic increases in property values along their edges of up to 25 percent. High quality streetscape improvements demonstrate the stewardship of a community and its investment in the future. Streetscapes provide great front doors inviting more patrons for businesses, attract more renters, and leads to developers and owners making their own investments. For many reasons, neighborhoods with lots of walking and bicycling are safer, healthier, and more economically successful. We also understand and appreciate the importance of empowering the community as the stewards of its future.
