Providence, Rhode Island
Harriman was commissioned to design renovations within the existing Center for Restorative and Regenerative Medicine also known as VA Providence Building #32.
The renovation houses two entities. The first, a DNA Lab housed in two adjacent lab spaces, focuses on collection, extraction, quantification, amplification and analysis of samples as they relate to specific research projects.
The second, a Virtual Reality/Treadmill Lab, is home to an articulated treadmill surrounded by rear-projection virtual reality screens supporting research on how amputees negotiate terrain given visual feedback.
This renovation required an expansion and integration of existing building control systems.
