Harriman led a multidisciplinary team to develop a transit oriented development plan and public engagement program to plan for future development surrounding a proposed high-platform railroad station in Windsor Center. The project included analyzing the market for existing and new development and coordinating train station development and operation with existing and proposed development and other transit services.
Focusing on the area within a half mile of the proposed new station, the team analyzed land use, market feasibility, parking, bicycle and pedestrian accommodations, and traffic and circulation improvements within Windsor Center. Additionally, the program analyzed opportunities to reuse and redevelop key underutilized properties.
The program focused on strengthening pedestrian and bicycle connections, providing an enhanced business and retail center, and examining the potential for mixed-use development, including housing within walking distance of the proposed new station.
